Anticipation

How long do I have before I become the talk of town? This was the one secret, she thought, couldn't be kept for long. In a few months, people would notice. Already suspicious most of them, they would start gossipping enthusiastically. 'I knew it' they would say to each other, 'must be that tall young strager,' pretending to whisper, hoping to be heard. In just a few months...

Unless a miracle happens... Was he going to be back as he promised? Did he ever have the intention? Could she chase after him? What if he already had a family?

Why was she so happy then? Shouldn't she be scared? Frightened even, feeling hopeless... How on earth it was possible that her appetite was much better? She was sleeping like a stone. A rather happy stone. She didn't care if he comes back or not. She tried to feel the shame and guilt, that everyone will want her to, soon enough. But failed. She tried to feel fear... Not found. She smiled.
